Braces Before & After

Smile Transformations by our O'Fallon Orthodontist

Just like our patients, our O’Fallon orthodontist Dr. Tom Mooney and his team are always thrilled to see the smile transformations that occur during treatment. These smile transformations can be seen on thousands of children, teens and adults throughout the greater O’Fallon and Lake St. Louis, MO areas. In order to help our patients achieve beautiful, healthy smiles, we provide a variety of treatment options including metal braces and clear ceramic braces.

What sets our practice apart from others is that after we remove a patient’s braces, we also offer some cosmetic treatments like teeth whitening, tooth stain removal and gum line sculpting to help perfect the new smile. We want to make sure that you are happy with the results of your orthodontic treatment, and offer these services to ensure that is just the case!

Below are some examples of the orthodontic problems that Dr. Mooney can correct with the use of metal or clear braces.

1 – Crowding Teeth

Crowding occurs when teeth have insufficient room to erupt from the gum. Crowding can often be corrected by expansion, and many times tooth removal can be avoided.

2 – Spacing

Spacing problems may be caused by missing teeth, or by a "traumatic" or deep bite.

3 – Open Bite

An Open Bite is when the upper and bottom teeth do not touch properly and can be caused by a tongue thrust swallow pattern.

4 – Deep Bite

The upper front teeth extend out over the lower front teeth, sometimes causing the lower front teeth to bite into the roof of the mouth (traumatic bite).
